Biased Understanding

First, it kind of surprising me when I learnt that the dumb phone is still very dominant in the market here. Almost everyone here is using it. I wondered why nobody is using the smart phone which has become a must in other countries. Isn’t that a sign of behind?

It wasn’t until I stepped into Snigdha class of train from Chittagong to Dhaka that I realized most of my first observation towards Bangladeshis are superficial in its entirety. This is a typical example of lack of judgement when you only see one side of the country. It must have been due to my way of travelling which rely on public transportation to move around or I must have been spending too much time with the lower class which eventually led to a biased understanding. Perhaps, I'm too local in some way. In fact, everyone in the train is using smart phone. Most has good command in English.

Welcome to the middle class.

As a traveler, I find it hard not to judge even though my visit is short here. I should probably visit north Dhaka which is said to be where all the middle class lives so as to have a better understanding on Bangladesh.
