The Impenetrably Quagmire Part VI: A Blessing in Disguise?

So I went back to the little clinic. Almost immediately the doctor wrote me a memo and urged me to go for a blood and urine test in Dharamsala. That means I had to down to the lower valley. Walao! I should have expected that there is no such kind of facility in the clinic.

Still refused to loosen my money belt, I took a bus there. It took me some efforts to locate the laboratory recommended by the doctor. It was around 1 km downhill from the Dharamsala bus station, opposite the Civil Hospital, at a row of double storey buildings, upstairs. Having checked out the price of the tests which was within the acceptable range of budget, I gave out my fluid willingly. To my surprise(may be not), the lab assistants there never used any clove during the sampling and testing and I told myself this is India. I closed my eyes to divert my attention and tried to doze as it would take approximately 2 hours for the results to be ready.

The test reports finally came out around 2pm. Everything is within the acceptance criteria and it’s tested negative for malaria – this is not a blessing in disguise though as I, after struggling to stay emotional-controlled, don’t think I’m subjected to the disease. So is dengue but they somehow never tested for it.

The doctor told me he would be in the clinic until 3pm and by the time I went back to the little clinic, it was already closed. I had to go back to ‘pay’ another visit tomorrow morning. Hope I won’t change my mind again. What’s the point to ‘pay’ a visit to the doctor again since I already had the tests report with me?

Well, I know I’d be going tomorrow.
