Finally, I’m in Mardin now. Mardin has been on my list since setting up my foot on the land of Anatolia years ago and I swore to myself I will definitely make myself here in one day.
And it’s today - 3rd May 2011.
While the setting of this little town on top of a hill crowned by a castle overlooking the Mesopotamian plain is awesome but not photogenic as I thought, it’s not difficult to understand why it would become so touristic so as among its own citizen. I ended up staying in a very gloomy and tatty ‘Hotel’ where I still have to pay a price which was just YTL 5 lesser than the cheapest hotel in town.

Making a strikethrough on Mardin in my list means I was pretty disappointed by this little town that I was once putting in great anticipation.
Note: I’m off from Turkey to a region nearby previously not dare to put in my list…will be back again soon. Wish me good luck!
