Fake Passport

So I was in Tell Abiad/Akçakale border, the border crossing point between Syria and Turkey rarely used by foreigners. While getting sick of dealing with numerous Kurdish-Syrian and Kurdish-Turkish who always traveled between both of the countries, the Turkish custom officer locked me in his cabin, reputedly passport control. He kept on making numerous phone calls, presumably directed to his superior but it seemed didn’t get any response. So he checked my passport from time to time, using magnifier as well as under ultra-violet and/or infra-red scanners before making a claim that I was using a fake passport to enter Turkey. I laughed out loud and then smiled, didn’t make any explanation. I know I will eventually be granted a stamp. Just let him carry out his duty.

That was the first time my passport was inspected in such a deliberate and time-consuming way. Crazy!
