Finally I’m able to move again. I have been lying on the bed for the past two days in a scruffy and gloomy hotel in the dusty and muddy town of Deir-Ez-Azor, in the river bank of Euphrates River.
It’s Diarrhea.
The Encopresis made me trapped in the small confined room…nowhere can go – the worst thing while you are traveling.
I went to toilet when the night was still young. I went to toilet right after lying on the bed. I went to toilet in the middle of the night(I think it was at night). I went to toilet early in the morning. I went to toilet before dawn. I went to toilet until I forget what the time was.
I laid on the bed, no, no, no, I mean in the toilet.
I kept on pondering what could have dragged me until this stage. The first thing came to my mind is – Hepatitis A! Quickly flipped through medical book…looking for relevant information and symptoms. Hepatitis A is spread through contaminated food(particularly shellfish) and water. Well, this sounds matching at preliminary stage of self-diagnosis as I ate roadside food and drank tap water. Symptoms: Dark urine? Nil; Yellow color to the whites of the eyes? A little; Fever? Yes; Abdominal pain? Of course; Prolonged lethargy? Yes; Delayed recovery? Yes. Conclusion: I have 66.66% chances to be infected by Hepatitis A! This reminded me of a Japanese I met when I was in Morocco 2 years ago. Suffered in Hepatitis A, he almost lost his life while attempting to travel overland across Africa.
No. No. No. I told myself not to be paranoid. I’m always the lucky one. I finally contented myself after swallowing 2 tablets of Charcoal I brought along and told myself – I just succumbed to myself.
This is the worst diarrhea I have ever had in my life!
I thought I’m done.
