Socotra Archipelago, Galapagos of the Indian Ocean

Socotra Archipelago has been known as an Arabian Eden lying between Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean. With Socotra's exceptionally rich and highly bio-diversified flora and fauna, 307 or 37% of its 825 plant species, 7 types of terrestrial mammals, 6 of its 178 bird species, 34 or 90% of its reptile species, 96 or 95% of its land snail species are endemic in which out of 52 of its endemic plant are included on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.

Being Endemic means they do not occur anywhere else in the world!
