Ashura is the 10th day of Muharram in the Islamic calendar where the Shi'a muslims all over the world commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Husayn ibn Ali, the grandson of Nabi Muhammad s.a.w.. The commemoration starts from the 1st day of Muharram, reach climax on the 10th day (Ashura) and last for the whole month of Muharram.
